Classes

Pilates with purpose.

Our signature equipment Pilates and high-intensity classes, with the brain and balance training most studios leave out built into every one. Up to ten people, every class mixed, and no two classes the same.

Around 40 classes a week, Monday to Friday, from 5am on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

What makes our classes different

It’s not just a Pilates class.

Every class trains the three systems that keep you steady and moving well. You’ll feel the workout. You might not notice the rest, and that’s the idea.

  1. 01

    Your eyes

Where you look, and how well your eyes hold steady while you move. Built into balance work, turns and reaching.

  2. 02

    Your inner ear

Your body’s sense of motion and direction. Trained with turning, tilting and changing speed, on the reformer and off it.

  3. 03

    Your body awareness

Knowing where your body is without looking. Trained through slow control, unstable surfaces and eyes-closed work.

It starts with your Ikigai Shift Screen, which checks all three, so your instructor knows where to start you and what to build in.

How a class runs

Different every time. Always with purpose.

You might stay on the reformers all class, or move through the Bright Room and the gym. Either way, you finish where you started: stretching it out on the reformer.

  1. 1

    Warm up on the reformer

Ten Allegro 2 reformers, with colour-coded springs set to suit you. We wake up your feet, hips and spine, and check in on how you’re moving today.

  2. 2

Into the Bright Room or the gym

CoreAligns in our sun-filled Bright Room, strength work in the gym, or brain and balance stations on the Reax Run, SMARTfit and spinners.

  3. 3

    Finish with a stretch

Back to the reformer for a long, slow stretch, so you leave feeling settled, not just worked.

Not sure which one? Your instructor will point you in the right direction after your Screen.

Our signature class

Group equipment Pilates

A challenging, full-body workout that’s kind to your joints. Reformers, CoreAligns and the gym, with balance and body-awareness work built in. All levels, with an instructor on hand.

  • All levels
  • Up to 10
  • Reformer + CoreAlign

High intensity

PHIIT

Pilates high-intensity interval training. The pace of a HIIT session in a Pilates studio, with less pounding on your joints. You wear a heart-rate band and see your effort on the live display.

  • Heart-rate band
  • Fitter, faster
  • Friendly competition

Fit classes

Strength & fit classes

Strength, conditioning and circuit-style classes in the gym, with reactive and dual-task stations so your brain works as hard as your body. [Class list: confirm]

  • Strength
  • Conditioning
  • Brain & balance

Prefer one-on-one?

Private sessions

Private Pilates or personal training, built from your Screen. The right choice if you’re working through pain or an injury, or you just like the focus.

Training for something?

Strength & conditioning

One-on-one and small-group programs for sport and performance, tested on VALD force plates so you can see the change.

See your effort

Train to your numbers, not just the clock.

In PHIIT and our fit classes, you wear a heart-rate band and your effort shows up live on the studio display. Your instructor can see who needs pushing and who needs to ease off, and you can see when it’s time to add a spring.

Members can also take a quick reading at home each morning. It gives us a picture of how you’re pulling up, so we can pitch your session to the day you’re having.

HR Bands are required for PHIIT. They are included in Limitless membership, or can be bought in the studio.

On the live display

Your effort, live

Colour zones show how hard you’re working, moment to moment.

Your morning reading

A quick reading at home before class tells us how you’re pulling up.

Your session, adjusted

We use it to choose when to push and when to back off.

Recovery

After class, switch off.

Recovery is part of training, not an afterthought. Book a session on its own, add it after class, or use your allowance as a Limitless member.

Infrared sauna

Gentle, even heat

A private Sunlighten infrared sauna. The heat is gentler than a traditional sauna, so you can settle in, breathe and let your body wind down after training.

Sessions of 30, 45 or 60 minutes.

Float tank

No light. No sound. No weight.

An i-sopod float tank filled with warm, salt-dense water, so your body is fully supported. With almost nothing coming in through your senses, it’s rare, quiet time to switch off.

Sessions of 30 or 60 minutes.

Your first class

Everyone starts the same way.

Common questions

Before your first class

Questions? Call 02 4821 8500.

Do I need to have done Pilates before?

No. Your Screen and our instructors get you started at the right level, and every class has an instructor on hand.

Can I skip the Screen and just join a class?

No. Everyone who joins our classes does the Ikigai Shift Screen first, including experienced people and people coming back after a break. It’s what makes the training work for you.

Are classes for women or men?

Both. Every class is mixed, with up to ten people. Some times end up busier with one group than another; ask us and we’ll suggest a class that suits you.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you can move in, and socks. [Grip socks: confirm] Bring a water bottle.

I’m pregnant, or have pain or an injury. Can I join?

Tell us when you book. We may suggest private sessions first, or an Ikigai Shift Assessment if something needs a closer look.

Can I claim classes on my health fund or the NDIS?

Classes and memberships are private fees. The NDIS doesn’t fund gym or class memberships. Physio- or EP-led sessions may be claimable: see Services.

What if I can’t make a class?

Cancel in the booking system so someone else can take your spot. [Late cancellation policy: confirm]
